At Minimbah State School, we pride ourselves on providing a wide range of sporting opportunities for all students. Each week, our Year 4–6 students participate in a sport of their choice, developing their skills, confidence, and teamwork through activities such as basketball, soccer, netball, rugby union, volleyball, cricket, touch football, softball, and lacrosse.
Throughout the year, students also have the opportunity to represent Minimbah at Gala Days and regional competitions, with both mixed and gender-specific teams. Our students proudly compete in events such as the Matt Gillett Cup, Billy Moore Cup, and Caboolture Regionals — showcasing their hard work, sportsmanship, and passion for sport.
We're fortunate to have strong connections with local sporting clubs and development programs, with visiting players and coaches regularly running clinics to inspire our students and strengthen community ties. Programs such as AFL Auskick provide opportunities for all year levels to build on their skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Our teachers also lead an engagement rugby program for students who demonstrate our school values — Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, and Integrity. These sessions reward positive behaviour and promote teamwork, cooperation, and shared success through sport.
Supported by Sporting Schools Australia grants, Minimbah provides students with opportunities to experience a diverse range of sports and stay active through fun and inclusive programs.
