On Monday 22 July, ninety-six year 7 students, their teachers and a teacher aide made an intrepid trip into Parliament House and GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art).

The students learnt about our system of democracy and the various roles that are taken by parliamentarians and the complexities of changing a "good idea" into a workable law. The students also had a surprise visit from our local member Darren Grimwade, who gave up time from his busy day to spent time with our students.

The students then moved onto the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), where they undertook some hands on artwork, compared the juxtaposition of the "steeped in tradition" Parliament House with the modern styles of GOMA.

All students spoke highly of the day and pass on their thanks to all staff involved in organising the day.
