Students Swim into Holidays

11/10/2017
Students making a splash in the 25m freestyle.

Term 3 certainly ended with a splash with the whole school participating in 9 swimming lessons. Many students were taught how to save people in an emergency and different strokes to help them swim.

The last day of term saw 151 senior students participate in the annual Swimming Carnival. Students competed in freestyle, backstroke and breath-stroke races which were 25 metres long.

Students were also able to squeeze in a kickboard relay for a novelty race. Students made teams of 3, used the kickboard in any way they wanted to and swam 25 metres to the other end before handing over to the next team member.

There were a lot of students who accepted the challenge to compete in all event this year which was an incredible effort by these students. Was a huge sigh of releif once they hit the finish line.

Throughout their lunch time student were allowed time to play in the mushroom, which was a delight to the teachers who now looked like they had been swimming also.

Huge congratulations to the winning house the Manta Rays, also a massive congratulations and well done to all students who participated on the day and put in 100% effort in their races.
