National Tree Day

26/07/2013
Seth M and Eliza R with Darren Grimwade
Each year, around 200 000 Australian school students participate in a special National Tree Day event designed just for children – Schools Tree Day! On Wednesday 24th July, local Member Darren Grimwade and students celebrated National Tree Day.

Bunnings Morayfield generously provided all of the trees and the equipment for the day.
Many thanks to Jenny and Brian from Bunnings who also helped plant the trees and shrubs. Schools Tree Day forms part of Bunnings’ ongoing commitment to playing an active and engaging role within each of our local communities, as well as a strong commitment to sustainability.

The students will endeavour to maintain the trees and shrubs so that they provide shelter and a food supply for local wildlife.
