Motivational Speaker Trish Jackson visits Minimbah

Trish Jackson, with Mark Ryan who is trying to write with his feet
Our local MP Mark Ryan, trying to write with his feet and guest speaker Trish Jackson

Minimbah was very pleased to have our state member of parliament Mark Ryan and local Motivational speaker Trish Jackson talk to our Yr 6 students.

Trish was born without arms due to her mother taking Thalidomide while pregnant and Trish spoke about growing up and how she was told "I never would", but she believed "I could, I can and I still do".

A great message for students about overcoming adversity and resilience. Too often today, people are told they can't do things or make excuses as to why they can't do something. Trish showed our students that with perserverance and a great attitude, we can all achieve.
We then had a number of students try writing with their feet and even our local MP Mark Ryan had a go. For some of us, we struggle to write neatly with our hands, yet Trish, can write and draw beautifully using her feet.

Thank you to Trish for a great inspirational talk and to Mark for introducing Trish to our school.
