Principal's Message

Minimbah State School was established in 1997 and is part of a vibrant community in Morayfield near Caboolture with an enrolment of approximately 650 students, providing quality learning for students from Prep to year 7.

Minimbah has a proud tradition built on traditional values, including pride in appearance and outstanding academic, cultural and sporting success in a caring environment built on respect and effective relationships.

The key values which underpin a culture of learning and respect for others at Minimbah are:

  • Learning
  • Integrity
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Belonging

Our school vision, Learning Together for the Future, commits all students and staff to engaged learning, inclusive practice and outcomes for future success. Minimbah is a strong learning community where learning is valued, and integrity of word and action is embedded in an environment of respect, responsibility and belonging.

Our purpose is to provide quality learning in a safe and caring environment that encourages all students to fulfill their potential and to be able to face the opportunities and the challenges that they will meet in a changing world. Integrity is a core value that will underpin the words and action of all members of the school community. As a learning community we will strive for improvement, take risks to learn and grow and take responsibility for the choices we make when fulfilling our roles.

As a learning community our words and actions reflect our beliefs that:

  • Diversity is strength and every member of the school community must be treated with respect
  • Children learn in different ways
  • Children learn best when they take responsibility for their own learning
  • Learning is a lifelong process
  • Teaching and learning need to have purpose
  • Planning and reflection are integral to professional teaching and engaged learning
  • Health and well-being impact on teaching and learning
  • Optimum learning takes place when strong partnerships exist within the school community

Minimbah provides students with modern and attractive environments in which to learn and play. Our classrooms are stimulating learning hubs equipped with the latest learning technology allowing teachers to design curriculum to engage in learning in many ways.

Minimbah State School provides a safe, disciplined and challenging environment that provides the opportunities for all students to achieve their potential.

We believe that a safe and supportive environment protects the rights of all students to learn, the rights of all teachers to teach, and the rights of all to be safe.

We believe all students need to belong to our school community and this belonging is underpinned by appropriate and respectful relationships. Developing a student’s sense of belonging is based on building caring, respectful relationships through proactive approaches to recognising and meeting students’ basic needs, explicit teaching of rules and expected behaviours, and social skill building and problem solving practices.

At Minimbah State School we are committed to providing quality learning experiences for all students. We believe that:

  • Learning styles and varying abilities need to be catered for through differentiated instruction
  • Productive learning requires a supportive environment
  • All students can learn
  • Learning is a life-long process
  • Good communication with parents supports student learning
  • Learning should be scaffolded and developmentally appropriate
  • Learners are supported by constructive, timely feedback

Well qualified and experienced staff are committed to helping all students achieve to their potential. Information Communication Technologies are used as a learning tool in all classrooms with students also accessing computers in fully equipped computer laboratories.

We value the positive and productive relationship between the school, parents and local community at Minimbah and believe that these relationships are central in enabling children to achieve to their potential. We encourage parent involvement across many aspects of school life at Minimbah. There are opportunities for parents to assist directly in class activities, provide input into school decision-making and become involved with the Parents and Citizens Association.

On behalf of our school community I welcome you to Minimbah State School and invite you to visit us and see our school in action and meet with staff.

Principal
